The Middle English version first printed in thynne's edition of CHaucer. It cnsists of three distinct fragments (corresponding to ℓ. 1-1678, 1679-5169, and 10716-12564 of the original) only the first of which is now ascribed in Chaucer. The authorship of the other two is unknown
